RI has the highest child poverty rate of all six New England states. Did you know that one out of every six children in RI goes without underwear, and that it does major damage to self-esteem and the ability to learn in school? Or that one baby uses at least 1100 diapers per year? These are not items that RI’s poor can acquire at a thrift shop or consignment store. Project Undercover has been helping provide these items to RI children for over 15 years. You can help by donating new, unopened packages of children’s underwear, socks and diapers, dropping them off at the Girl Scouts of RI office, 125 Charles Street in Providence, RI. OR visit projectundercover.org for more information.
